Look at that. Does your body not say, “That. You want that”? Here are a few of my favorite websites that specialize in vegan/vegetarian/healthy recipes. There are the staples for healthy cookery:Vegetarian TimesEating Well, you can Google them and they are found easily at the top of the list, but there are more websites, created with a genuine love for healthy living that I rely on much more to feed my soul:

  • Healthy Crush :: A Love Affair with Living Well
“People always ask me if I’ve always been this obsessed with health & nutrition. On the contrary, my friends! A few years ago, I had a lot ofunhealthy crushes – on things like processed food, booze, drugs, too much caffeine, cigarettes…you get the idea. That lifestyle didn’t nourish me physically, emotionally, or creatively – and it wasn’t long before I felt the need to find a better way.”
  • SkinnyTaste.com :: Delicious Low Fat recipes from My Family to Yours
“At Skinnytaste.com, you’ll find healthy dishes that don’t sacrifice any of the flavor that can be found in their full-fat origins. My creations must be both ‘skinny’ and ‘tasty’ because after all, this is the same food I cook on a daily basis for friends and family, and they are some of my toughest critics!”
  • The Post Punk Kitchen
“The idea was simple: a fun cooking show to give vegans something to watch. And, hey, let’s throw some bands in. We also started a website (this website!) to support the show and to foster a vegan cooking and baking community, where we could submit recipes, share ideas and maybe gossip a little bit.”
  • Sweet Happy Life
“Sweet Happy Life focuses on family-friendly recipes and toddler/preschool activity ideas. From cardamon tiger bread and apple-carrot mini muffins, to children’s songs and painting with glue and salt, this site is all about making the little kid years magical. Oh yes, and there’s something for mama too, like this homemade pumpkin spice latte.”

If you’re ever in Lake Placid you must check out this joint, The Good Bite Kitchen. Kayte’s menu changes daily, all of her items are vegetarian and most of her items can be vegan and/or gluten free.
